  • Road test vehicle, and vehicle has lack of power. Scan computer for DTC codes- P0016 CMP/CKP correlation BK1 sensor A/ P0017 CMP/CKP correlation BK1 Sensor B/ P0019 CMP/CKP correlation BK2 sensor B/ P0172 Rich condition BK1/ P0299 turbo "A" under boost. Inspect vehicle and found both intake and exhaust cams are stuck @ + degrees indicating cam phasers are bad/ defective. Additional testing and tear down will be needed to check oil actuators and solenoids. We do suspect that there will be an oil feed issue found related to previous poor workmanship. Recommend replace timing chains w/ cam phasers and all necessary components, or replace complete motor assembly. Vehicle inspection- Front end clunks over bumps in the road. TPMS (tire pressure) light is on. Vehicle is due for front brakes (1-2mm remaining), but rear brakes are fair to good (4mm). Oil indicator (sticker) in spec (not due for oil service according to sticker). *Note* vehicle took a hit (impacted) to core support for intercooler. No repairs done at this time

  • Scan computer for DTC codes- P0300 multiple misfires detected /P0307 cylinder#7 misfire detected/ P0316 Misfire detected @ start up. Cleared codes, perform reset, and DTC codes returned. Scan computer for current DTC codes- P0365 CP sensor B BK1/ P0369 CP sensor B BK1/ P0390 CP sensor BK2/ P0394 CP sensor BK2/ P1639 Vehicle ID block corrupted. Run vehicle, and sounds like cam phasers intermittently sticking. Inspect vehicle and looks like vehicle has very minor signs of coolant in oil (in oil cap). Looking into engine through filler, looks like vehicle did not get frequent oil service (sludge/ contamination). Vehicle has issue w/cam phasers/timing chain. Due to age and mileage of vehicle, recommend complete motor replacement. Customer declined any repairs at this time. No repairs performed.

  • Inspect vehicle, and found no oil registering on dipstick (low on oil). Lift vehicle and inspect for leaks- found severe oil leak from oil cooler assembly. Recommend replace oil cooler assembly w/ components, pressure wash, and re check for leaks. Vehicle inspection- Recommend replace front tires (worn 1/32nd thread depth). 225/65R17. Recommend replace rear brakes (1mm remaining). Recommend replace front motor mount (mount torn/ broken). Vehicle is due for service (transmission fluid, cabin filter, & air filter).
  • Remove intake manifold. Replace factory oil cooler assembly w/ new sensors, and oil hose. Re install intake manifold w/ new gaskets. Change oil (oil cooler assembly comes w/ new oil filter). Replace drain plug w/ gasket (was rounded out). Check operation and road test.
  • Lift vehicle, and pressure wash undercarriage. Road test, and re check for leaks- no leaks detected at this time. Advise customer that oil leak was severe, and vehicle may residule oil on undercarriage/ frame (cleaned best as possible). Recommend recheck for leaks next service.

Install scanner to read live data, and road test vehicle- Both (bank 1 and bank 2) catalytic converters have insufficient reduction (oxygen sensors are working properly). Advise customer to replace catalytic converter Y pipe assembly (comes w/ both converters) w/ dealer assembly. Vehicle inspection- Recommend replace front brakes (2mm) w/ new pads, rotors, and brake fluid flush. Recommend re-check rear brakes next service. Rear differential cover is leaking, Recommend rear differential service. Recommend replace front running light bulb (is out). Rear pinion seal is seeping, recommend monitor for leakage.
  • Lift vehicle and inspect for leaks- Found vehicle leaks oil from valve covers, and upper oil pan. Recommend replace valve cover gaskets w/ oil pan gaskets (upper and lower), and pressure wash. Recommend re check for other potential leaks after leak repairs, and pressure wash.
  • Run vehicle, and check for engine noise- Found belt idler pulley is making excessive bearing noise. Recommend replace belt idler, and re check for noise.
  • Remove and replace both valve cover gaskets.
  • Remove upper and lower oil pans. Install upper oil pan w/ factory gasket. Install and re seal lower oil pan.
  • Replaced drain plug (threads bad). Top off fluids. Set tire pressures to spec. Reset maintenance indicator.
  • Lift vehicle, pressure wash undercarriage, and re check for leaks- No leaks detected at this time.
  • Check operation- No engine noise detected at this time.
  • Check operation and road test.
  • Flush brake system . Clears all fluid of master cylinder, abs controller if applicable, hoses, lines and calipers.
  • Service rear differential. Remove cover, drain all fluid, clean and inspect gears. Reseal cover
  • Check operation- good.
